Today the children had a great immersive day as pirates. They began the day choosing a pirate name, making coins, collaging parrots and making pirate ships; we tested the pirate ships to see if they would sink or float. We read pirate stories and collected sticks for our campfire. Whilst sat around the campfire, we sang pirate songs and toasted marshmallows. We even had some duels on the balancing beams, which really got the children chanting.
