Tutankhamun day
Mrs Steed's class had a brilliant day of history with a learning focus on mummification and the famous pharaoh Tutankhamun. First, the children completed an outdoor trail to catalogue eight items that were found in King Tut's tomb. Then, we travelled back to November 1922 to meet Howard Carter himself and be shown around Tutankhamun's tomb and learn some more information about the artefacts that were found in the long forgotten tomb. Afterwards, we learnt about mummification by mummifying oranges (we will revisit this next term to find out what has happened) and in the afternoon completed some work on sources to look at the theories behind how Tutankhamun died.
