In maths this week, we have been learning about capacity and early learning methods of measuring capacity.

We counted cubes to measures the capacity of the containers. We then had a discussion to see if cubes were the best method to measure capacity, we all agreed that there were lots of gaps in between the cubes and decided it was not the best thing to measure capacity to.

We then used sand and water in a counter to count how many cups/pots it would take to fill a container. We measured the capacity this way and decided it was a much better method. 

Later in the week, we compared the capacity of containers, measuring to see which had a greater capacity, a smaller capacity as well as containers that had the same capacity.
