The children have really enjoyed our practical Maths sessions this week and have shown great collaboration working in pairs and small groups.

We have used scales to measure Mass, comparing heavier and lighter items. We made predictions prior to weighing them and noticed that the size of an item does not determine the weight.  

Then the children used non-standard units to measure capacity. We measured capacity using cubes, counting how many each container held. The children discussed and compared which had greater capacity, using their knowledge of numbers.
