DT Day- Shaduffs
Today, we have had spent the whole day focusing on Design and Technology. Making Shadufs- an Ancient Egyptian tool to transport water from the River Nile to land.
The began our day reflecting on their mock-up shadufs from last week, understanding that the design process definitely involves not getting things perfect first time. They evaluated them and decided as a group what changes they needed to make and what materials they would use to make their final products.
The children worked collaboratively together in groups of 3.
In the afternoon, the children tested their shadufs to see if they would transport water from one container to another. Some of the children were disappointed that the willow was not strong enough to hold the container of water without a little manual help, but showed such respect and resilience.
The children have had such great ideas, worked hard, produced some fantastic shadufs and had such great fun in the process.
