Science- measuring light
In Science this term, the children are learning all about light.
The children have discovered that to see, we need both our eyes and light. If you can see, then there must be light and with true darkness, you are unable to see anything.
This week, we moved our learning on, looking at the properties of materials and how reflective they were. The children first made predictions and then experimented with this; completing a comparative test, using a torch, different objects and a data logger. The children measured the light reflected off the objects in lux. The children realised that the shinier and smoother the material, the more light it reflected.
