Leaf collecting and swamp exploring!
Today, children in Year 5 and Foundation Stage cut back the herbs and strawberry plants and swept the KS1 planter area. They also pruned plants and swept the Foundation Stage outdoor area. Afterwards, it was on to leaf collecting, an ongoing activity at this time of year.
Caring for our school grounds helps the children to develop a sense of pride in their surroundings. The physical activity is great for their health and mental wellbeing and learning is still happening too! It might look like the Foundation Stage children are just having fun paddling in our temporary swamp(!) but they were also exploring how the plastic trug floated.
