How does sound change over distance?
Over the term, year 4's science topic has been sound. We have carried out a variety of investigations, exploring how sound travels as vibrations and how those vibrations can be affected in a variety of ways. For our last lesson of the term, we observed how sounds get quieter as the distance between the sound source and your ear increases. We carried out an investigation to prove this. 10 blindfolded children guessed how far away from them a sound source was in metres. Often the children were correct to within a few metres! Even Mr Read and Miss Hemstock had a go!
