Ancient Egyptian day
Mr Read's class had a wonderful day exploring the lives and traditions of Ancient Egyptians. In the morning, they explored a re-creation of pharaoh Tutankhamun's tomb, discovered in 1922 by world-famous Egyptologist Howard Carter. Afterwards, the children completed a trail, identifying and describing the valuable items found in the tomb. For their third activity, they deciphered the mysterious circumstances of Tutankhamun's death.
In the afternoon, the children learnt about the process of mummification and had the opportunity to mummify an orange!
